Most people do not like plain water and usually gravitate towards sugary beverages that aren’t good for the body. Sugary beverages are high in calories and they do not really hydrate the body well, especially caffeinated beverages. Caffeinated beverages can actually leave the body more dehydrated instead. Equally important, it is easy to consume unwanted calories that have no real nutritional value when you drink your calories. This adds up pretty quickly over the course of a day. Fruit infused water is a great alternative to plain water, sodas, juices, and those artificial water additives that are offered as a solution. Making infused water is super simple and the ingredients can come from a combination of fruit, vegetables, herbs, and even spices. All you need to start is a glass beverage dispenser (1 gallon) or a glass jar (quart size) if you want to start smaller and a recipe.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup Fresh Strawberries, sliced
- 1 Lemon, thinly sliced
- Mint Leaves
- 1 gallon Filtered Water or Distilled water
DIRECTIONS
Add all ingredients to the glass beverage dispenser. Let sit for 2-4 hours or overnight to let the flavors of the fruit and vegetable infuse into the water. Enjoy! You can easily fill a smaller jar to carry it with you. Remember to refrigerate any unused water. Also, remove the fruit and vegetables if not consuming water within 24 hours.
